A trailer manufacturer up north, needed dust collectors to collect weld fume in their plant. Prior to the installation of the dust collectors, they were using exhaust fans. Due to the cold winter temperature in this part of the country using exhaust fans was very costly. They purchased two ACT Dust Collector Systems. First collector, an ACT 3-24 with a 50 HP fan rated for 18,000 cfm and the second collector, an ACT 4-16, 30 HP rated for 12,000 cfm. Both systems were designed for 7 air changes per hour and utilize VFD’s on the fans. The air is now returned to the building greatly reducing heating costs and clearing the air.
